Warm Fall
quince in December with Mr. Ant |
The whole Fall has been so mild that I've been gardening right up until yesterday. The cold is coming so I guess outdoor gardening goes into storage until the Spring! Believe it of not, here are quince flowers from yesterday, Dec. 6, 2011!
Even the ant is fooled into
thinking it's Spring!

Not raking leaves!
Out in the sunshine of an unusually warm November day. NOT raking the leaves, just making my first video for YouTube. In tribute to the influence of NancyToday....this is me going on about the autumn....
(edited 12-6-11 trying to fix video's first screenshot! Can't!)

Milkweeds---Sturdy plant comes back each year. Didn't notice it was perennial 'til it smacked me in the face each year in the same spot. Great joy in any season--from flowers with a heavenly smell to gossamer fluff, and seeds all in a row. Don't get the sap on you, tho'! Wonder if the sap would work as a natural glue??

Knitting Socks...the past few years!
First socks ever-- in DK yarn. Knit on one circular needle with "magic loop" method. See anything different??? Yeah...
No, they don't match my feet, but they do fit!
Second socks knit on two circular needles--see the "seam" down the middle of the foot? Never mind the fudges when directions skewed me sideways!

Beliefs/Actions
From Lark Rise to Candleford, season 4, episode 6:
Queenie Turrell: "What a person truly believes isn't
what they think, isn't what they say, is what they do!"

Kathleen Eagle
Another quote:
Kathleen Eagle, in One Brave Cowboy:
"Life gives you mold, you make penicillin."
(All failures in accuracy my fault.)

1st in a series of pithy and thoughtful quotes and observations :

Openness
Open up to creativity and let it flow.
Chip away at the chaos of life each day,
and soon you'll have accomplished something new.

Lines to Live By...Louise Hay
Lines to Live By...from Louise Hay
I am willing to let go.
I release. I let go.
I release all tension.
I release all fear.
I release all anger.
I release all guilt.
I release all sadness.
I let go all old limitations.
I let go and am at peace.
I am at peace with myself.
I am at peace with the process of life.
I am safe.
Any misquotations are strictly my fault.
I am willing to let go.
