Getting Outside in the Spring...

Deterioration of walking abilities by osteoarthritis has made going outside a major effort. But a new camera indulgence (Nikon d5100) has gotten me off my butt and into the spring sunshine. Here are some of the results:

Imagine a tiny flower embryo encapsulated in a bulb waiting for water and sunlight to burst forth...

Crochet Mania

First Irish crochet attempts
Flower close up

Tiny Tatting Thread  doily
Sheesh, the time I spend doing needlework. It seems a significant part of my life now...at least I'm not just sitting here whining and wallowing in my depression and debility! And for some reason, the "tiny" attracts me! Here is my first attempt at freeform Irish crochet, and crocheting a tiny doily in tatting thread. Yeah, I just ignore the mistakes and keep on hookin'!

Hey, Gull!

You gonna eat that? You gonna?
I'll eat that!
Hey, gull!
Hey, half of life is just taking the time to look around!
Hey, you!

Yeah, I got my eye on you!

Yet Another Nite Up All Night....

19 years old
about 7 years old
3 years old
67 years old!
Sub for camera shy 18 year old cat!

Since I've retired, day has switched for night--stay up till morning, nap thru the day. Ah, the joys of no scheduled work--I mean "job"! I have lots of work--most  gets ignored for  what I want to do....mainly: pets, internet, crafting, needlework, gardening (in warm weather), and reading. Naps are big, too! Interspersed with shopping jags...Oh, to be old, poorer, and hard to walk...but not necessarily wiser...it doesn't stop me--much!
